Moab Girls Trip!!!!!

The last weekened of summer, I went with some friends to Moab for a few days. It was so nice to get away, and relax. We had such a blast. However, I have yet to get the pictures (that all 4 of the other ladies have copies of). And, since Jenn has blogged all about it, and of course posted every picture on her blog, feel free to check in out at www.lookslikewemadeit-douglas.blogspot.com
The twins started 1st grade this year. How crazy is that, that my kids are that old. They have been so excited for it to start. The first week went great! And now they are ready for summer to be here again. Here is Jaxson already for his second day! They are in the same class. They got Mrs Brimhall, who I heard was fantastic. But last minute they got switched out to a new teacher, Mrs Healy. So far they like her. She might be a little stricked from what I can tell. Maybe that will be an ok thing.

The first day of school was pretty hard for me. I didn't like that I couldn't go in and make sure that they know how to do everything, and get from class to lunch and back to class. Of course its not big deal, and they can totally handle it. And we are adjusting to having them gone all day. Landon has missed them. He gets his backpack on and is ready to go to school witht the kidss every morning when we head out the door. Its the cutest thing ever.

These kids are so stinking cute!! Whats a mom to do all day with them gone. No worries, I find plenty to keep me and Landon busy!

Bear Lake!!

Last Friday the kids and I went up to Bear Lake for the day. It did NOT start out great. Half way through the canyon Landon and Reese both got sick. Not a lot can be done at that point, so we just pushed on through. I must say, I love Bear Lake!! Its so pretty. We ended up having a blast!Jaxson and Cooper made a big sand castle. They worked so hard the entire day, but of course I forgot to get a picture of it.

Landon, SO CUTE! He tried to keep up with the big boys. But, on occasion, he would bum around with Clayton -aka- run off with the giant truck he was playing with.
Reese was content to play on the beach all day. She loved it! At the end of the day, she went to wash the sand off, and came sprinting back to the beach saying that there was a giant fish. I told her she was wrong and went to prove it. Only to come sprinting back in myself. MAN!! That Carp was ginormous!!!

Jenn took the boys out on the tube. Landon wasn't so sure, but Jaxson... Man that kid loves to go fast! He also went out on the tube with Shaylee and just wanted to go as fast as he could. No fear. He had a blast on the boat!
Thanks Paul and Steph for taking us.

Okay, so I must admit. I am not the biggest fan of the sun, and the heat, and the sweat that unavoidably goes along with the HEAT and the SUN. This year however, I've decided to take a more exciting approach to this misery. So... I got a pool!!!

As it turns out, Reese loves it. She is a fish! She spends every second, of the day, EVERYDAY, out in the pool. And boy has her skin turned to a beautiful brown. Jaxson on the other hand, likes it for about 2 minutes periodically throughout the day. He seriously jumps in once or twice and then he's done. Jared and I have yet to get in, and Landon pretty much hates it. Still, I think it was a great purchase. As does Reese and all her friends!

My baby isn't a baby anymore!

Landon turned 2 on the 6th! So crazy how fast it goes. I realize that 2 is not entirely that old, but he is my baby. It was last week when he was born, wasn't it? He is so stinking cute, and sometimes I wish he could just stay at this stage for ever. Landon has always been an easy kid. I was so lucky with him as a baby. He never, ever cried. I'm hoping to have as much luck through his terrible two's. He definitely has they same stubborn side as his brother and sister.

We are working on taking his binki away. All three of my kids have been binki babies. But Landon has hung on to his a bit longer then I would like. So I said by age two he would no longer have it, except for at night. He actually has done really well. He even hands it to me now, before getting out of bed. Such a good boy, makes life easy. Happy birthday little man!

Kindergarten Graduation!

Oh, the joys of kindergarten. Jaxson and Reese had a fantastic year this year! Reese specifically did so much better, and has come such a long way in a short amount of time. She has surprised me by coming out of her shy little shell. She reminds me of me when I was young, being so quit and reserve. Only now she isn't that timid little girl any more. I know it's only kindergarten, and that they have a billion more years of school, but I'm so proud of them thus far in their great accomplishments!!

This year they were in the same class together. This is them with their teacher, Mrs. Ewing. She is an amazing K- teacher, and the twins just adore her. Three days into summer and already they miss her.
They both amaze me all the time with how dang smart they are. I don't know what I'm going to do when they reach 3rd grade and I can no longer help them in school, because they will know more than I do. With them both doing so well, I thought that I'd split them up next year for 1st grade. When I mentioned it to them, they both got really upset, and started crying. They said that they wanted to remain in the same class together, that they would miss each other, and that they loved each other. Shocking since they are constantly fighting. But it melts your heart when your kids get a long and actually say that they love each other. So... I did what any mom would do... and together they will be.

Curious George

So, Landons favorite show is Curious George. The other day Jared and I were watching Landon, as he watched the show, and Jared says "hmm, he kinda looks like Curious George". We got a laugh out of that because he actually does resemble him, only of course, much cuter!

Landon will be 2 next month. He has been a bit behind in his speech, and still lacks the inability to say "mom". Such a simple, beautiful, phrase. I've been waiting and hoping that the day would come. Why you ask? Im not quite sure, because from Jaxson and Reese "mom" is all we ever here. Mom, can I have this? Mom, will you do this? Mom, will you help me with this? Mom, mom, mom... Seriously, your dad is sitting right there!!

We have had him in speech therapy for two months now and then one day it happend. He referenced me. But not in the way I had hoped for. He now runs around the house after me yelling "Ga-kie, Ga-kie". True it is very, very cute. Landon is fully aware that we are putty in his hands. Who wouldn't be with this kids face.

My Family

I am so excited to start my blog...in fact, so excited that my friend, Jenn, is actually doing my first post! I am so lame that I can't even take the time to put some pictures and a few words on my blog about my family. Heaven forbid I spend some time journaling and sharing my thoughts and feelings about my wonderful family whom I love and adore.

I have three beautiful children who keep me on my toes. I enjoy spending time with them each day and I think I learn as much from them as they do from me.

Reese and Jaxson just turned six this past January. They are loving kindergarten and they especially love their teacher, Mrs. Ewing. They are learning so much and it has been exciting for me to see them learn how to read. Jaxson is playing soccer right now. It is fun to watch him because he pretty aggressive and fast. He has caught on to soccer quickly and it is nice that he loves doing something that helps him get rid of some of his energy. He also enjoys riding his bike and playing with Legos.Reese is in gymnastics and she loves it. When she first started, she was not able to do a cartwheel, but now she can do 3 or 4 in a row. She loves to show friends and family the things that she has learned in gymnastics. She has really "come out of her shell" the last year, and has become quite the social butterfly. She has lots of friends and enjoys spending time with them. She is a good sister and loves to play with Landon. She helps me alot around the house. Landon will be 2 in June and he is getting big too quickly. Earlier this year, we realized that he could not hear very well. In fact, the doctors said it was as if he was under water. We noticed his speech was way behind for his age, so we got him tested and found out he needed ear tubes. He is having speech therapists come once a month and he is starting to talk alot more and we are actually understanding him somewhat. Landon is full of enery and has a contagious smile. He loves to jump on the tramp with Reese and Jaxson and spend time in the sand box. As long as he is outside, he is happy.
